To make life easier why doesn't u just write in a more simple way, now what's the question require you to write in an essay NOT novel MAN!!!
You may be will asking me why am i start my article in Chinese and end up with English...
By relating it my my exam question, i would say there is because now's day we live in a multicultural world, if u do not try to understand their language you will tend to misunderstood and of course conflict will be raise as we do not find a solution that is - understand their language thus you will understand their culture.
